Samsung Smart Glasses: Launch Schedule and Availability
As reported by Chosun Biz, Samsung Electronics has finalized plans to launch its first AI-powered smart glasses in South Korea and the United States in mid-December. The retail price has yet to be determined and remains under discussion. Markets in Japan, China, and Europe are not included in the initial launch phase.

An industry insider revealed that Samsung intends to broaden the product’s availability after assessing initial demand and user feedback from the first two markets. This limited-release strategy mirrors the approach taken with the company’s Galaxy XR headset, which also debuted in South Korea and the United States before expanding to other regions.

Samsung Smart Glasses: Features and Specifications
Samsung’s smart glasses are built on Google’s Android XR platform and incorporate Gemini AI technology. Equipped with an integrated camera and microphone, the glasses can recognize the surrounding environment, enabling features such as real-time translation and voice-guided navigation—all without the need to take out a smartphone. Furthermore, the glasses can capture documents or scenes from meetings and automatically organize this information into the “Notes” app on a connected Galaxy smartphone.

These smart glasses are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 chipset and reportedly offer up to 9 hours of battery life on a single charge. To date, Samsung has unveiled four models: two were showcased at the Google I/O conference in May, while the other two were introduced at the Galaxy Unpacked event held in London on October 22.

The South Korean tech giant is set to launch smart glasses, positioning them to compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses. These glasses will feature Google’s Gemini AI and the Android XR platform, and are being developed and designed by Samsung in collaboration with brands such as Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. Samsung has not yet announced a price.
